Superb reproductive performance in a dairy herd in Youghal, Co. Cork.
Scanned a dairy herd of 350 cows on the Cork/Waterford border, the confirmed pregnancy rate for the 1st 25 days of the breeding programme was 61%. The scanning also revealed that there was no undetected oestrus in cows presumed pregnant. Non pregnant cows were accounted for by embryonic mortality.

Gases from Slurry Agitation Can Cause Death
On a farm visit in Co. Antrim, where a client informed us that 5 show cows died from gas inhalation associated with slurry agitation.
